"Quick action" regarding bed bugs in this building is a joke.
Treatment for bed bugs under Hugo's watch is "bug dust" and a can of raid.
...and when you walk by and see a crazy guy throwing furniture off the high balconies onto the sidewalk below - THAT'S THE MANAGER. lol
It's how he gets rid of the belongings that tenants have had to leave behind because, of course, nobody told them they were moving into a major infestation that is NEVER PROPERLY TREATED.

Purchased some used furniture, got bed bugs =(
Landlord took quick action, solved the issue.
Thanks Hugo!

While there are still some issues with this building, the current Manager is significantly more responsive than previous managers.
The BB Issue remains a DIY project by the manager, but he has acquired the proper substance,(Diatamaceous Earth, and he "is" working with Tenants to solve problems.
One of the problems is a number of tenants refuse to keep their apartments clean, even to the point of permitting pigeons to nest in protected areas of their balconies. Pigeon droppings will, over
time, cause bedbugs to re-infest that suite and others as they squeeze through the slimest of openings.
Not perfect yet, but getting there... Bedbugs are a worldwide problem, even in the best Hotels and apartment buildings.

We have bed bugs in our apartment and recently threw out our mattress. Our apartment was sprayed down and we are very weary about moving back in after hearing some of the horror stories on here.
Can anyone else chime in on this? We have recently seen 2 other mattresses sitting outside by the dumpster..... Anyone ??? Would love to have some help.

With dates landlords can pretty well tell who is complaining.
Lets just say within the last 2 months, we noticed we had bedbugs in our apartment.
The building Manager arrived with 1 can of spray and one bottle of boric acid not nearly enough to treat the entire apartment, even were it an effective treatment.
Boric Acid is not practical because it is crystaline in nature (like salt/sugar) and does not spread like powder would. It cannot simply be sprayed into cracks and wall sockets as
it falls into little piles at the bottom, not staying all over the intended target surrounding area.
The bedbug problem has been advancing ever higher in this building for years now with no professional exterminator having been employed to combat the problem.
This is indicative of the way all maintenance in this building is done, on a shoestring budget, elevator, flooring, counter tops, fridges, paint, leaking roof, the result being a building which, if it falls much lower on the scale, will need to be demolished
But then, this seems to be the trend all over the West End (and entire city)not only permitted by but seeming encouraged by the repeated inaction of successive Vancouver City Councils and the Provincial Legislature (via the Residential Tenancy Branch)
As usual the Tax payer (Tenant) is left to their own devices, abandoned by all levels of government

Major bug problems in this building.
Management has opted to treat the latest bed bug infestation with DIY suggestions. Seriously.
Of course this is useless and the infestation continues/grows.
You DO NOT want to live in this building. You'll wind up leaving all of your belongings behind when you move just to make sure the creepy nightmare doesn't follow you when you go.

This apartment building is full of infestation including bebugs and cockroaches. The managment refuses to take any measures to fix the problem and has resorted to letting the building rot. The slum lords that own this place will do nothing to rectify the dangerous living conditions. On top of this, once you are forced to move out due to the deplorable living conditions they will refuse to return your damage deposit forcing you into the time consuming process of dispute resolution. Stay away from
this building!
Not a fan on 11/02/2009
This building continues to have major issues and refuses to address the issues. They continue to dump infested matress' and furniture on adjacent properties. There are currently at least 10 apartments infested with many ppl just putting infested items on their balcony.

Whole building has issues because the landlord/manager is not proactive or even responsive most times to sorting out problems and cuts any corners to save a buck, also very unlikely to get your deposit back.
Damsel in Distress on 08/10/2009
The entire building is infested I was just sprayed on the 3rd floor along with 3 other tenants on my floor. The building had up to 20 apartments sprayed in one day.. stay away! The landlord will cut any corner he can in regards to costs and expenses so if you're not there to see them spray.. I question how adequately my apartment was done. And he is refusing to do a second treatment! Stay away from this residence!!!!!
