Former Tenant on 09/06/2012
This is a BC Housing building for people with disabilities. Some are physical, some are psychiatric and severe in nature. I was glad to leave due to the latter.
I did not encounter any bedbugs in the building.
"Anonymous" is a tenant who has been forcibly taken to the psych ward for acting in an unmanageable manner towards tenants and building management. As you can see by her write up, she has grudges against other tenants. She is not interested in solving problems, but in creating infla
mmatory situations. She doesn't work even part time. She exits her apartment perhaps twice weekly, and only in the middle of the night. All her windows are covered with tinfoil to keep out "bad rays."
If there ARE bedbugs in a suite, it's impossible to determine who brought them in. The Bedbug Registry is just another venue for "Anonymous" to vent her continual resentments against other tenants.
There are no bedbugs in this building. The building was recently extensively renovated. Any bedbugs would have been easily discovered and exterminated. From new plumbing, electrical and exterior walls (leaky condo) to drywall and painting, the building has been entirely redone.

Most of the residents have worked hard to keep this BCH property clean of bedbugs & other pests. However, one woman on the 3rd floor keeps a mentally disabled man who is a bum, and who lives in another nearby BCH property, which is extremely heavily infested with bedbugs. Sure enough, by early summer of 2010, thanks to his frequent visits to the building, we found ourselves struggling to keep the bedbug infestation confined to her suite. We also have dumpster divers in the building, with one ten
ant in particular habitually cluttering up the common area with items retrieved from dumpsters. BCH is finally attempting to force tenants to curtail both this practice, and the practice of allowing their pets to roam freely & unattended throughout the building. With such practices it is surprising our pest infestations have been so modest to date. To be fair, BCH has moved quickly on any bedbug reports. I do have to caution the reader that if you suffer any kind of chronic condition, and especially if you are sensitive to the effects of secondhand smoke (both tobacco and crack cocaine) then beware, this is a very unhealthy place to live.
