My daughter and I have suffered from an infestation of bed bugs since we moved into this building in June of this year. We were not forewarned about this problem, and find from other tenants that bed bugs have been a problem for years. The landlord has done nothing more than 'give us' a can of pesticide to spray the baseboards with, but that is simply a bandaid and temporary fix. We have gone through the New Westminster Health department but are told that nothing can be done unless other tenants

call in and complain. They are afraid to do so, even tho complaints are anonymous - or nobody cares. My daughter has been afraid to sleep in her bed and sleeps with me on occasion just in case. We just put the bedding through numerous loads of laundry and sprayed the bed with insecticide. Again, this will only temporarily keep the free-loaders at bay for a short time. We should not have to move - firstly, financially we can't afford it and secondly, we'll be taking our 'new found friends' with us to another place only to start again. I know there is a bylaw about this kind of infestation - why is it not being dealt with????

I know multiple people there who have MAJOR bed bug problems, yet nothing is being done about it. That building is seriously crap. I agree with what the person said below me. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.. IMMEDIATELY. This will just continue to spread until it becomes a massive epidemic throught New Wesminster. For what i see on this site, there are a lot of places infected in New Westminster.

I recently moved into this building. I was assured there were no bed bugs and that all maintenance in the apt would be dealt with immediatly. It has been two months I still have bed bugs and nothing has been fixed . I no longer have use of my bed. I have asked for both chemical and organic treatment of my apt and though the managers said it would and was done before I moved in an yet they are still present. I was forced to leave my home on many occasions. And now the landlord is trying to put th

is on me as if I caused the problem and have to pay for it.( I'm already paying for a place I spend almost no time here) I had the infected bed put into a bed cover and was told the bed would be picked a after waiting more than a week my friends proceeded to lower the covered bed out the window and to the nearest dumpster. the landlord is now threatening to evict me for removing the infested box spring and claimin this to be my doing even though I was told they had to spray before I even moved into the building. So not only to I have to deal with nasty bugs I have to deal with nasty landlords . Along with bed bugs the building is severly under maintained with mice and crapy appartments nothing is fixed in the building with a very lazy janitor
