I moved into the second floor of this building in Sept 2010. Within a couple of weeks being here my roommate was being biten. With some investigation sure enough we had Bed bugs! We informed the landlord immediatly. She called the pest control to have the suite treated. This was not enough for my roommate. She moved out. Leaving me to deal with this on my own. I lost a old friend over this. Pest control company guaranteed for 6 months. They had to come a total of 3 times. Each time I had to va
cate the suite...launder everything (at my cost not cheap) vacuum constantly. Winter was good and saw no signs. Early summer I replaced couch, chair and bedroom suite as I was told to dispose of the old...more cost to me! After having new furniture in the suite sure enough the pests were back!! Landlord called another company and he sprayed again. More laundry and still more vacuuming. Everytime they came my house was torn apart and it cost me money. The bug guys are coming back tomorrow to spray again. I AM MOVING!! My only hope for solution is to store my belongings for the winter and hope the cold kills them once and for all. Pest control has informed me there is no way to totally get rid of them here as the whole building needs to be treated! I only hope this report will save someone from the nightmare I have experienced this last year...

We also experienced this nightmare at this apartment building. The people in the apartment beside us must have had their place sprayed, and the result was the bugs migrated to our apartment two months after we moved in. Do not move into this apartment building, as the entire building is infested. Shame on the landlords, the strata, interior health and other tenants for not warning us and others. Everyone is just too afraid of being sued.

Sometime last year (2009) a report was made that bed bugs were found in a few rooms in the bottom floor of the building and that fumigation had occurred. Problem is, no information or facts were given to the owners about bed bugs and how to deal with or prevent them from spreading. My room is at the opposite end of where the first infestation occurred and I now have a bed bug infestation. I made sure to do my research about bed bugs and I am very disappointed that the strata did not do the sa
me. I have talked to some of the tenants in the building and it seems that many are still unaware that there is an infestation (most likely because they may not be showing symptoms or they are attributing the bites with something else). Everyone should have been properly informed and the entire building should have been dealt with all at once. I'm concerned that once I treat my apartment I will just get the bed bugs back because a neighbor does not know that they have them as well. The sad part is, many of the people in the building are unknowingly spreading these bugs to their friends and family elsewhere. If our strata did their due diligence and informed the tenants and owners of the facts about bed bugs, it would help to stop the spread of these infamous pests. Same goes for all other apartment complexes.
