in my apartment too. The key point here is, I found out from my neighbor, not from the landlord. The landlord told us they found out this infestation a week ago, however, there was no notice warning all the tenants that there is bed bug. We all know how fast bed bugs spread and how far they could travel. I called the landlord immediately and informed him such situation. I insisted that the all the tenants should be notified immediately the bedbug situation so they could take precaution (put double sized tapes. He told me this would be done the next day. He also told me that the pest control company will come to spray chemical in 6 days, which is the coming Friday. Another key point is they learned of such situation last week, how many eggs would hatched during this period and how many more apartments/ units will be affected? How do they estimate the magnitude of this infestation and be able to respond appropriately? I called the Rental Office the next morning and talked to the Rental Manager, Lynne Marriott for two things. 1. let them know that it is unacceptable and irresponsible not to notify the tenants about the bedbug issue. 2. Suggest that they should have the pest control in as soon as possible. Lynne responded with her indifference attitude. She also finds it funny somehow that I didn't find another pest control company who could come in earlier for her before calling her that she burst out laughing condescendingly. She also did not response why we were not informed about this issue. We discussed about the risks and consequences of not responding the situation immediately with treatment. I also found and provided her with info and quotes of another company who is available to come in the next day. I also made other suggestions i.e treating the building instead of just 6 units.

Her irresponsibility worsen when she firmly stated that there is no bed bugs in the building which I responded that she would not know for sure. She made that statement without learning the reality of the situation just to brush me off shows her lack of commitment, responsibility, and professionalism as the Rental Manager in dealing and solving this situation.

I'm writing this because this is everyone's responsibility to target this society issue of bedbugs before it spreads the entire Edmonton.
I also urge Braden Equities & Inc. to take this matter on seriously.

I do not recommend renting this place.
