I'll cut to the chase. When we first entered the room, we checked for signs of bed bugs and didn't find any. They were there anyway. When we awoke in the morning, there were blood stains on the sheet on both sides of the bed. I found a tiny scab on my neck. This made me even more worried. I examined the bed further and found a tiny bug full of blood on top of the sheet. Two days later and my wife who has bad reactions to bug bites is covered in welts. Fortunately our baby sleeping in a portable
crib seemed unscathed.
I called the front desk. The person on duty was nice about it and immediately offered to put us in another room. But he was strangely nonplussed about it (a common occurrence?). Later in the day, he confirmed that they found bedbugs. This was room 223. We relocated to room 233. At the time of this writing, I am not sure our bags which we moved were not infested. So if you are staying in either room, beware.
Before moving rooms, we showered and bagged all clothes that were out during the night. The whole move took up the grater part of our morning. After researching what to do about bed bug infestation we learned that dryer heat kills them. However the front desk would not provide us complimentary quarters to use the washing machines and dryers. "I'll have to ask my manager" (we never heard back). Lame!
In consideration of our problems, the motel comp'ed us $30 for one night. I told the clerk that wasn't much considering the trouble and trauma. "I would have to talk to my manager who isn't here". Again, lame! We had planned staying three nights, but were so traumatized by the experience, we left after the second night. I should mention, that we didn't see any evidence of bed bugs in the second room after waking.
I understand that bed bugs are not an uncommon hazard and that any motel is susceptible. But how a motel deals with the infestation and how they handle the customer service aspect of it is their choice. Comfort Suites, Moab chose poorly in this regard. At the very least, we could have been offered a profuse apology. They couldn't be bothered with even that. I write this review as everything that was in the room is bagged in the back of the truck awaiting debugging. I don't know what the expense will be. We also worry the cab of the truck may have been compromised by us putting a backpack and diaper bag we had in the room up front with us.

Pest control management must not be doing a good enough job. On August 10, 2010, I woke up with 10 juicy bites. I know for a FACT they are bed bugs because I've had them before! I blame the foreigners, as bed bugs do not always indicate a hotel's cleanliness and as Americans in this hotel, we are a minority. Uffff, I'm disappointed and itchy and my vacation has just begun! =(
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

I stayed in Room 204 - have at least 50 bug bites on my body. Now my family is suffering, seems like we may have brought some home in luggage. Reported it to the hotel.

october 10, 2009 room 104 slept in a room with two queen beds. woke up to find a dark colored beetle like bug crawling near my face on the covers. I reacted and squashed it and had blood on my fingers. thinking it was just a random bug I went to wash my hands. I got back in the bed and noticed tiny red bugs there too. so I switched beds. I wanted more sleep and I thought maybe they were just harmless bugs of the desert or something. same thing in the other bed. I taped four movies on my phone an
d the front desk finally sent someone from maintenance to look at them. he took a kleenex as both another dark beetle like bug and tiny red bug appeared. I am still waiting for him to return. I'm going to call the department of health.
