We arrived for check-in at the Howard Johnson establishment in Pigeon Forge at approx. 3 P.M. on July 2, 2012. Our family had 2 rooms reserved on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Upon entering the room, it appeared to be very old & out-of-date. Also, it had been very poorly cleaned. Immediately, we started to inspect around the edges of the mattress. That's when we found the bed bugs, their droppings, & even some blood spots in one of the rooms. We approached the front desk & was introduced to the ma
nager. This lady refused to refund our money. She didn't believe us & wanted nothing to do with it. We even showed her the bugs, yet she continued to deny their existence. At one point, she took one of the bugs with her & never returned. Again, we proceeded to the front desk to inquire about a refund. We were very harshly treated! Eventually, she agreed to a refund, but only for one night. Basically, she said that we couldn't prove that these were bed bugs & that it could be dust from a child's food or something like that. How ridiculous! It was pretty apparent that all she cared about was the reputation of her hotel & wanted us out of the lobby. She had no sympathy or concern for our health or the welfare of others human beings. A few other customers were filing complaints as well. One person found mold on their shower curtain. Finally, we just gave up & accepted the partial refund. This incident was very unfortunate & should not have happened. Horrible experience! We're currently working with our credit card company to dispute the charge. DO NOT STAY HERE!
