I have never stayed at this hotel but I was reading the comments below and the person defending the hotel mentioned room number, but the person claiming there were bed bugs never said what room. Sounds like an employee comment.

I just want to add to the the lady with her claim of bed bugs. I have been coming to Rocky Top Village inn for many many years and have actually stayed in rm 56 and never had no problems If someone did bring them there they must have took care of it immediately. The staff there are very friendly the place is an older place but for the price and cleanliness i found it was well worth it and will continue to stay at Good ol Rocky Top Village Inn

I stayed at the Rocky Top from 10/6/12 until 10/13/12. The first couple of days there I noticed a couple bites showing up everyday and I just attributed them to mosquito bites. However on the 2nd to last day the bites were increasing in number and were on places that I had covered during the day. I decided to check out the mattress hoping that I did not find anything. I found dead bedbugs, bedbug stains and live bugs running from my tweezers, yuck! This was obviously not a new infestation. We we

nt and showed the manager and she came up to the room and said that yes they were bedbugs. She said she would move us to another room. There was never any apology! She acted like it was no big deal. The trip was a present for my mom for her b-day and she was so freaked out she started crying because she has never had to deal with anything like this. I ask the manager if she was going to refund our room because our vacation was ruined and we were quite traumatized by the experience and she suggested that "some people have real problems." I told her that most hotels would give a refund and she said she couldn't do that only for one night (we stayed a total of 7). She actually said to me "how do we know you didn't bring them"! What nerve! This person should definitely not be in customer service and definitely should not be in charge of a hotel. She said "some people only care about money". It's the principal of the thing. I would pay my credit card double to not give the hotel any of my hard earned money. I am in the process of disputing the charge. When I told her that I would dispose of my suitcase and buy a new one in an attempt not to bring these disgusting creatures into my house (suitcase was on floor by bed), she told me that "they do not get in suitcases". What planet is this lady from? How does she think these bugs get transported? We were move to another room (would have changed hotels if this wasn't our last day and most of our day was already wasted on this problem). I have Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease a type of muscular dystrophy and of course we got a room with stairs. Worst customer service ever! I doubt the problem will even be taken care of. By the last day I had 32 bites, on my arms, legs, torso, buttocks, hands, and even on my face! Do not stay here! If you do have a problem they will not take care of it and the bedbug infestation is long going and disgusting!
