I own a rental property in a nearby lake community. A family that had stayed at this hotel April 8, 2012, the night before staying in my home, brought bedbugs with them. They were bitten as was I when I stayed at the house just after them. It cost me $3,000 in extermination, cleaning and a lost rental, plus I had to shut down for treatment for another week. It was an expensive and exhausting experience. The hotel manager refused to give me any compensation for the infestation and would not provi
de extermination reports for the room. I also contacted Days Inn (Wyndham) corporate customer service, which twice sent a request to the owner to contact me; he never did. I was told they could not do anything else since Days Inn is a franchise.

The stay was from May 11-May 12, 2012. A single stain was on the sheet at night, but I didn't recognize it as bed bug feces because the room was kind of gross. In the morning there were multiple stains on my pillow, and I observed 2 bugs in the sheets when I was getting ready to leave. Management said it would take a week to get a refund because the exterminator had to come first, but ended up refunding us an hour later. I now need to fight them to get them to cover the expenses of cleaning/repl
acing my belongings.
