My husband and I have been to Fernwood 3 times prior to this last trip. Prior to this last visit, we were originally very pleased with this resort. Well this last trip, we stayed at one of their villas. For 3 days we had a wonderful time. We even spoke about possibly enrolling in a time share there. We had such a great time, we decided to extend our stay by one day. A HUGE MISTAKE!!! Since it was their "peak season" and were pretty booked, we had to relocate into one of their regular hotel rooms
. After a mini nap, I woke up to a bed bug hanging out on the lamp. Needless to say, I freaked out. I told my husband (he's the calmer one between the two of us)and he went straight to customer service and spoke to the manager. All the while I was having a full blown panic attack in the room, shaking out every piece of clothing, shoes, bags- you name it. I thought, what if they dont believe him. I decided to catch the damn bedbug in a water bottle to show them. At that point, my rage started to kick in. I thought, if they give us any grief whatsoever- I will show everyone in the crowded lobby causing a mass exodus. He came back to inform me that they had relocated us into another room that had been "inspected". Since both my husband and I had a few drinks- driving back to New York at that moment was not a safe option. We got into the other room- there was no sense of comfort at all. In pitiful attempt to make ammends- the gave us a certificate for $25.00 for a free dinner. What a joke. We went back to customer service again , bedbug in tow,to speak with the manager. I stated my displeasure and stated that we deserve atleast a discount, which we did get. We ripped up the certificate. We sat up in chairs the entire night. As soon as the sun came up- we checked out. NEVER, EVER WILL WE STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN. NEVER. EVER. Thoroughly disgusted and disappointed.

I WAS VACATIONING WITH MY FAMILY AND ON THE MORNING OF 8-17-2010 I WOKE UP WITH BITES ALL OVER MY ARMS AND NECK.THE MAID IMEDIATELY CALLED
FOR SOMEONE TO COME AND CHECK AND SURE ENOUGH THEY FOUND BED BUGS ON THE INSEAM OF ONE OF THE MATTRESSES THEY WANTED TO CHANGE OUR ROOM BUT I REFUSED AND CHECKED OUT AND WENT TO WASH EVERYTHING I OWNED AT A LOCAL LAUNDROMAT IN HOT
WATER. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN THROUGH NIGHTMARE.
THAT WAS THE THIRD ROOM THE HOTEL PUT US IN IN 2 DAYS. TTHE FIRST ONE BECA
USE THE AC UNIT WAS NOT WORKING, THE SECOND BECAUSE WHEN I WENT INSIDE THE ROOM THERE WERE ALLREADY PEOPLE IN THERE SHOWERING AND THE FRONT DESK DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT
AND THIS ONE BECAUSE OF BED BUGS.MY FAMILY AND I
HAD THE 2 DAY VACATION FROM HELL.
