We contracted scabies by staying in this hostel.
We ended up not only paying a private hostel room but also $200 in medicine!
Scabies is a contagious skin disease caused by a species of mite (Sarcoptes scabiei) that is very small. We suffered from: # tching, especially at night
# Rashes
# Sores (abrasions) on the skin from scratching and digging
# Thin, pencil-mark lines on the skin
The mites that cause scabies burrow into the sk

in and deposit their eggs, forming a burrow that looks like a pencil mark. Eggs mature in 21 days. The itchy rash is an allergic response to the mite.

Complaining with the hostel was no use at all as everytime we called (in total 3 times) we were chocked off with the argument that the manager wasn't around. We were promised that the manager would call us back, but this never happened - of course!!!
