I was woken up around 3am because my hands were very itchy. Upon turning on the light I noticed I had bites on my hands and arms and I got up and saw TWO bed bugs crawling right where I just was. They had literally just bitten me. I got tissues and killed them and threw them out and couldn't sleep the rest of the night, scared that there was more. Needless to say, I didn't stay another night.

Do not stay here! I stayed at the Metro from 11th - 14th July 2011 on the 5th floor. At the end of the first day I was itching and thought nothing of it. The following day the bites had spread across both arms. I was away on business, this is not what you need when dealing with a full day of apts with clients. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like it. My arms were bright red and swollen. I was moved to the 12th floor after refusing to sleep another night on the 5th floor, when

I moved to the 12th floor the bites had spread to my legs, groin and back.

The lady on reception was so unhelpful, when I first enquired about the room to be refunded they simply dismissed this idea and said that there was nothing they could do as it was booked through a third party. We have been staying with the Metro for over twenty years, this is not the type of customer service I expected to receive. I was aghast when I was made to feel that I was making a fuss about a few mosquito bites. It was clearly obvious that the bites were caused by bed bug bites and not mosquitoes as they had first suggested. I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t carry on with my appointments. I have lost out on business as I had to cancel my appointments for the morning so that I could seek professional advice from the doctor and contact my travel insurance. The doctor confirmed that they were bed bug bites immediately and prescribed me with a ten day course of antibiotics and steroid cream. Since my return I have been left with scars all over my arms, I have had to discard many personal items in case the insects had spread to my suit case. My clothes had to be professionally laundered and I am currently trying to claim back all the medical fees on my insurance which totalled up to $300.00.

Stay away from the Metro!!!!

Room 911 is a suite and a lovely room. After a six night stay I returned home and started to itch and scratch. There was a line of red bites going up my legs and back. It was so bad I went to a doctor who prescribed prednisone and a Steroidal cream. My husband did not get any bites.
