Stayed there March/2012. Renovating still but nicely done modern rooms, fairly spacious and a gorgeous building. One of my favorites on the UWS. NO BED BUGS found in my cursory inspection under the mattress and NO BITES. Enjoy. Room 1021

Actually, I stayed here from June 26, leaving July 4. I know that was a while ago, but am told the reaction can be delayed for weeks.
The room first assigned me was small and shabby (there wasn't even any furniture to put my clothes in) I called down, said it was the worst hotel room I'd ever seen (and it was) and asked for another room. They gave me one which was larger but equally shabby, with a very smelly small refrigerator. I think the room was 730. (I think the first room was 703.)
My son wanted me to leave but I have COPD and was not inclined to move again.
I think it might be significant that the hotel had still not been totally renovated and had previously been an SRO hotel.
The bed-bug itch became noticeable about three weeks ago.At first I thought nothing of it and suspected it was the soap I was using for my very dry skin. Now, however, I've noticed small "bites" and blood.
Now, mind you, I have no hard and fast proof, I never saw a bedbug, never even thought of one until about a week ago.
But there was something odd and off-putting. about this
uninviting hotel, and when I heard it had been an SRO hotel and was still renovating, well it suddenly became a suspect.
I lived on the Upper West Side for decades, and have ben living in a much admired condo building (64 units) in Florida for the last 9 years.
Again, I have no proof, but I do have a strong suspicion.)
