the manager. We went back up to the room and continued to hunt for the awful creatures, finding no additional evidence. The manager knocked on the door and came in yelling at us, saying “that is not a bed bug, trust me,” and “this hotel is not like those others, we clean all the walls and we have exterminators come in every week.” He was extremely angry when he saw both headboards on the beds and the sheets pulled up. It took a few minutes to calm him down and we decided to stay. After he left we continued the hunt. Nothing.

An hour later after calming down and just about to go to sleep, a movement caught my eye on the wall. I saw it – a fat and full adult creeping out from behind the headboard. I put it in a plastic cup (they have a hard time with plastic), a plastic bag, and in the fridge. That manager would never believe us. What could we do? We were so freaked out we just grabbed our coats and then ran out of there to sleep in the car. We wound up cutting our vacation short and going home, where we threw out our luggage and washed everything we wanted to keep in scalding hot water.
