We know an exterminator who told us how to check for bedbugs when staying at a hotel. We checked into this hotel on our way back from FL. I put on gloves and used a flashlight to check under the mattresses and along the mattress seams. While doing so I observed one dead bedbug under one mattress and bedbug droppings along the seam of the other mattress. I did not do a complete check of every part of the mattresses so I guess I got lucky. I immediately called the desk clerk
who came to our room. She was shocked and seemed to be in denial. She offered us another room but we decided to leave. This hotel was very nice and clean looking but as we all know even the nicest places can harbor these pests. I am not trying to hurt their business as they were very understanding. I am sure they will work to correct this situation but it is important that anyone staying there ask questions to ensure that corrective measures were taken.
