I stayed in this hotel May 28-30th. I wanted a decent place to stay, until I could find longterm housing, because my company sent me there for 13 weeks. I am nervous about bed bugs, and decided to remove all of the sheets, the bed skirt, and pillow cases. I looked around the mattress and found classic black marks indicative of bed bug waste. I found little white eggs, in the bottom right corner near the foot of both beds in this double bed room. When I lifted the box spring off of the frame, I s

aw dead bed bugs right near the staples in the skirt, and one or two slow moving ones in the corner. It was terrible. I'm a guy, and I have lived in some gross places (fraternity house) but this literally made my skin crawl. I understand that they are a huge issue for even the nicest hotels, but when I called the front desk, the guy said they're probably just there because of the renovations. Really? That is the best you can come up with? I just laughed and said okay man. Left, and slept in my Durango that night in the parking lot. I checked in to the place right across the parking lot, and I am typing from there right now. This place is great. It could have been handled a different way.

This hotel is rundown. That should have been my first clue, but I woke up in the middle of the night itchy and to notice a few bugs in the bed. I called down to the front desk and the gentleman's repsonse is no one is here from housekeeping sorry. Turned out they were bed bugs and I had bites for days.


My husband and I are checking in to this hotel, on Sunday, Oct. 9 -19. Now we have to be concerned about bed bugs because of the reports that you did/do have them. How can we know for sure that our room will be bed bug free?

I am not liking what I read about Comfort Inn, Westport. We have stayed here several times with no problem, but now we just read this report.

I recently stayed for 4 days, August 11, 2011 and checked out on August 15, 2011. Upon getting up and getting ready to leave, my wife noticed a bed bug on the bed sheet. She had already been bitten. This was presented to the front desk and my contact number was left for the manager to call. Thankfully, we packed things in a plastic bag and found another bed bug in my wife's PJ top, while going through the entire suitcase, outside and in our garage, at home. I had also made another call, 10

hours after checking out and was advised that the General Manager and Head of Housekeeping had my message and would contact me. Four days later, the front desk manager calls and leaves a message. She had also sent an email and made an adjustment to my credit account. Not a courteous way to do business on the part of the general manager. After further research, this problem existed prior to my arrival. I did notice a white powdery substance on the baseboards and read that this was a treatment indicator. Shame on them.
