Just completed a two night stay here (5/21-23/2013) with my husband and 2 year old in room 316. We found the staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful and had no problems with bugs at all-- and believe me, I was like a crazy person checking out every speck I saw having read this website prior to my arrival. The only rash I have is a sunburn from enjoying time at the outdoor pool while neglecting to wear sunscreen!
I was hesitant to come here due to the postings on this website, and didn't
have a choice of hotels as this was where my husband's conference was and his employer was paying for him to be here; my son and I were just tagging along for a nice time away. I would definitely return to this hotel in the future. Lice and bedbugs don't just magically appear, they are brought in by guests. Shame on people for traveling with lice and bedbugs on them or their belongings.

The Cape Codder Resort is very proactive in our training of housekeeping staff to identify any potential bedbug situations.
In addition to a fully trained housekeeping staff we use Waltham Services, Inc. to inspect any room that a guest has claimed to have had a bug bite of some kind. In the past 8 years we have not had any bed bug sightings by this certified pest control company. All of the bug bites reported have been either sand mites, ants, etc.
We have also used the services of a prof
essional, certified bed bug dog sniffing service to occassional sweep rooms. We have never had a positive hit with this service.
Please contact me directly if you have any questions or concers.

I stayed here for a conference and upon coming home noticed many red raised welts all over my arms and legs. I saw an allergist, an md twice and a dermatologist who narrowed this down to bed bugs.
This is a very upsetting problem and is ruining my skin because I scratch it from the major itching,

I have stayed at this hotel for years on business as well as with my family. We have never had a problem with any bugs of any kind. I once asked a room housekeeper about bed bugs and she actually showed me a manual that was on her cart outlining the procedures they have for this type of potential problem. Apparently all of the housekeeping staff is trained on this.
Seems like some people are a little vindictive?

We stayed here last year and our children ended up with head lice! Took 6 months to get rid of, you don't show symptoms until a few weeks later.

I have followed up with the guests regarding rooms 403 and 405. Our internal inspection as well as the professional inspection done by Waltham Services, Inc. has been negative. I have contacted the guests for additional information, however, they have not responded.
The Cape Codder Resort & Spa takes the issue of bed bugs very seriously and we have extensive, pro-active training for all of our housekeeping associates. You can find information on our hotel web site regarding our procedures wit
h this situation. I can also email to anyone interrested our Pest Control Procedures information.
I can also be contacted if you have any questions or concerns.
