I stayed at the Hampton Inn on 82nd Street for work. This is one of my company's prefered hotels. I had room 134 with two double beds. I did my usual check for bedbugs when I checked-in - pulling up shets, checking matress seams, etc. Room appeared clean.
Woke up next morning and found a bedbug walking on the pillows of the other double bed in the room (the bed I did not sleep in).
Reported the incident to the front desk and the woman made a note to contact the room
cleaners. No apology was made. My corporate travel representative is also contacting the hotel.
This just goes to show that you need to THOROUGHLY inspect a room prior to a stay. These bugs are good at hiding.
