Marriott gave the woman a letter admitting there was bed bugs in the room. The admitted and confirmed it themselves. On their letterhead. Good luck. Sleep tight!

I am a Marriott Rewards member. I have never encountered bed bugs at any Marriott hotel. I always ask about bedbugs and find the staff knowledgeable about the issue and able to tell me the hotel's policy for addressing the matter should a problem occur. I will stick with Marriott as they are responsive to the issue. It's unfair to bash an entire hotel chain on the basis of one unconfirmed report. I do NOT work for Marriott.

This is a horrible story! What IS the process and policy that Marriott has in place when bedbugs exist? Yes, travelers transport bedbugs, duh, but once they exist what is the responsibility of the hotel? Please! Didn't she show them a picture of the bedbug? Did she get another room? I would stay away from this hotel and Marriott's in general. It seems the staff here completely dropped the ball and gave poor service and was completely insincere in dealing with her horrible experience. Thi
s is why I generally stay at Hilton's for my business travel needs! I hope, at the VERY least, they comped her room and sent her some flowers at the hospital!

I informed Marriott of the bedbugs in my room nearly a year before the other listed complaint. I described in complete detail how I was bitten every night during my stay until I bought a bed cover (I had already moved rooms 3x for other reasons and was not moving again). I thought as a Platinum member I would hear from the manager about what was done to correct the issue after I left or get reimbursement for the cost of the bed cover (just 15 dollars). Well, I was wrong. From that experience
, I have started to use other hotel chains and will NEVER return to that Marriott again.

Marriott cares greatly about every guest's experience and we take hotel hygiene and sanitation very seriously. As a result, Marriott has established very strict standards of cleanliness for all of its hotels that either meet or exceed public health department regulations, including pest control. In the unusual event we are made aware of a concern, we respond immediately to the situation and take the appropriate steps to remediate whatever problem we find.
Many times guests inadvertently brin
g the bed bugs in with them in their luggage, brief cases, clothing, etc. They are more likely to get them on airplanes, cars, taxi's, movie theaters, etc.

Women hospitalized from severe infections due to bed bug bites. Im sure the hotel isnt taking care of it properly, i dont think they even checked when she initially had bites. there was even a bug FOUND. It took the woman 3 more nights of staying and being bitten to finally get the hint that there were bed bugs in the room. This enrages me, I live about ten minutes away from this hotel, I do not want to be at risk for an infestation because of ignorant people. from what it sounds like, if this
woman had just checked her bed when she got to the hotel, she would have most likely found evidence of bb.
