My son and I stayed two nights (9/20/13 - 9/22/13) on the 1st floor (Room 142) at the Days Inn Hotel on Delk Road in Marietta, GA. I woke up on Saturday morning (9/21/13) and noticed a dead bed bug lying on my bed with small streaks of blood stains smeared on the bed sheets on the side where my son was sleeping the night. At first, I didn't think it was a bed bug, but more of an insect that flew from outside into the room. But, little did I know that was a bed bug and we had just been preyed
upon as their hosts and eaten overnight. I should have informed one of the employees at the time of the incident, but didn't think anything of it, especially in these modern times. As a side note, I did research on the Internet once I got home and found out that those blood smeared stains on the bed sheets are sure signs of bed bugs (Cimex Lectularius), which are small parasitic insects (reddish-brown in color and size of an apple seed) that feed solely on the blood of people and animals while they sleep. Bed bugs and their bites can cause a number of health problems that include severe allergic reactions, itchy skin rashes, and psychological effects. I have experienced all of these symptoms over the past week, especially having swollen red bumps on my skin that cover my whole body (neck, face, arms, knees, and back) and constantly itch every day since I've left the hotel on Sunday morning (9/22/13). My skin condition has been relieved somewhat by medication, but it's still been quite miserable and troublesome for me. Please stay far away from this place.
