I had NO idea & learned the hard way! on 08/01/2011
I checked into the hotel on Monday and was staying till Friday; I had my bedding changed once during my stay on Wednesday. On Friday morning when I was getting ready I noticed I had about 5 bites; most were on my lower back and behind. I also noticed 1 on my upper arm. I informed the front desk during check, around 9/10 am I was worried about bed bugs and they said they had not had any complaints, but would look into it. I returned to the hotel later, around 4/5 and had asked if something had be
en done, they informed me the room had been marked as having bed bugs and was removed from the computer as rooms guest could stay in. I was then informed I should have all of my luggage cleaned.
Between Friday 29th to Sunday 31th, I went from having a couple of bites (about 5) to about a 100s all over my body. I have them on my arms, leg, feet, hands, check, back, stomach, behind, face ... everywhere!
On Sunday I went to an urgent care, where even with my health insurance I spent $75.00 to see a doctor. The doctor looked at my bite and informed me they were bedbug bite. That they can take anywhere from an hour for 36 to 72 hours to appear and another 3 to 5 days to heal with my skin type.
I have called the hotel several times , but have not heard back from anyone!
I partly feel stupid for not knowing more about bedbugs, but after being a flight attendant for several years and NEVER experiencing anything like this, guest I just didn't know how bad it could be.

April 13, 2011 Checked in. Did a check. Live bugs found in both beds of the room. Asked to change rooms. Management agreed and sent maintenance to inspect. They agreed it was bed bugs. We switched rooms. Second room had black bug parts on the mattress, but I could see no moving black bugs. In retrospect these could have been casings, but I had no flashlight, and did not have enough light for a thorough inspection. We slept in room number two.
We threw away our sleeping clothes, show
ered, left and decontaminated our clothes when we got home.

Checked in and did a bed bug check. Saw some bed bug "poo" stains and my fellow traveler said I was being too nervous.
Went to sleep. Was itching all night. Didn't sleep. Woke up with bites all over.
Wanted to leave and again fellow traveler convinced me I was being paranoid as he had no bites. Meanwhile my throat was swelling, my tounge was swelling. Tried one more horrid night, told management, Ecolab was already there.
They did an inspection and I was refunded for three nights
even thought I only stayed two. I had paid for 3.
I suppose they were there since the previous traveler was there a day before me.
It was a horrible experiance.
Then I was left with how to get home without dragging these home with me and into my car. Had to throw away my bags, my clothes. Everything.
What a horrifying experiance?!

Checked in Nov. 2010. Upon arrival checked mattress and found bedbugs on box springs. Our party took 2 rooms and the other room also had bedbugs. Notified management. They came and inspected it and agreed they were in fact bedbugs. Moved my party to a total of 6 different rooms, all had bedbugs. We then left the hotel and stayed somewhere else.
