Recent post and claim of Bedbugs at Shores of Panama Resort on Panama City Beach is false. The resort has proof from exterminator that none were found and the Health Dept said the guest had bug bites that could have been fleas or anything no Bedbugs. Our beaches have what is called "No Seeums" which are tiny flying insects that bite with no sign for several hours and leave small red areas. They bite in swarms and can leave numerous bite marks in small area. Guest admits to hanging out on balcony
where the bugs could easily have gotten to them, and like mosquito's are attracted to carbon from human beings. Had the balcony door been left open the bugs would have entered the room and bit unexposed areas of the skin while sleeping including face and arms. The resort is happy to provide the back up to disprove this claim.

I just got back from the worst vacation ever!!! To look at this place, you would never dream this could happen! I had 2 teens, the first night the girls fell asleep on the couch, round 5:30 one of the girls went and got in the lower bunk bed, the other stayed on the couch, i had gotten up to put up the tent on the beach round the same time, not a single place was on this girl! When she woke up around 9:30 that morning she was covered in bites all over her face and upper body (eye lids, ears, li
ps), so i go to wal-mart to get something to put on the bites: mind you the other girl never slept in the bunk bed., the guy told me to change rooms and get to a Dr., so thats what i did! Not only did we go to 1 Dr. but 2, they both said the same thing BED BUG BITES! So 600.00 later the hotel puts us in another room, and said they did NOT have bed bugs. And the funny part is when i should them the girls face, they were looking bed bugs up on line, and the day managers face told the whole story, he knew what was on her face (they are attracted to the carbon in your breath), but stood firm that on protecting the Shores. They are not reliable for any distress caused during this time! They have an answer for everything....funny that the 2nd Dr. we to was the Health Dept. and they had had 6 reports of bed bugs that day! Not only did it make for a bad trip, but the staff at the Shores of Panama were very acted as though "ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM" and it wasnt!
P.S also learned that no hotel/motel/condo is required to change the sheets!
