We arrived Friday September 18th, 2015. Were assigned to 5717 in the West village. Very nice condo. On Monday the 21st my husband showed me blood splatter on the queen bed he was in and there was a larger blood stain on the other queen bed my daughter was sleeping in. We didn't notice anything until Tuesday night when we got home from Disney. I had bumps all over my ankles and it looked like spider bites or bug bites. My daughters bumps started to show up Wednesfay morning. I spent all day Wedne
sday researching bed bites sitting at the pool watching my daughter swim. I went to management and the moved us. The only offer for compensation was they would wash our stuff for us. We have a washer and dryer. I will do it myself. That's what I am currently doing. Back packs and stuffed animal are in the dryer. Urgent care this morning confirmed bed bugs. But great news from management, while I was washing my clothes in my new unit their own pest inspector investigated our Old condo and could not find bed bugs. Hmmmm what are all these bites from then???? The medical doctor claims they are bed bugs and the only bed I have been in is room 5717. I called the county health department and put a complaint in, They will be coming out to do their own inspection. I also am in the process of putting in a complaint to the BBB, regarding this issue that Holiday Inn seams to think is just common due to their warm weather. At this time this complaint is to be continued as I am still in this bed bug infested resort.

I WAS an Owner at Orange Lake Country Club and Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. I, since, have been fortunate enough to Sell My Unit! In October of 2012, I invited My Brother and His Family to spend a week with Me at Orange Lake. On Our very first night, We were Severly Bitten by BEDBUGS! Upon reporting this incident to Management, (3 Times!), They Finally sent someone over to inspect Our Unit. (Remember: I WAS, at that time. an Owner.) Management DID Comfirm that We Indeed DID HAVE BEDBUGS!
But, ALL They offered to do was Move Us to Another Unit! THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS!!!!! WHAT Was I paying Over $800.00 a year for Maintenance for? Besides being an (one week) Owner of the Unit? PLEASE, DO NOT, FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, SPEND YOUR HARD-EARNED VACATION AT ORANGE LAKE RESORT AND COUNTRY CLUB IN KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA. ALL They Want Is Your $MONEY$! Then, Screw You!!!

We just got back from our Disney vacation and staying at the Orange Lake Resort May 24-31 2014. About the third day into our stay our daughter woke up with bug bites on her arms and neck. We didn't see anything in the room and just thought it was a spider since the bites were in a straight line. She continued to get more bites and still saw no sign of bugs until the last day when we were packing to leave I found a bed bug on my sons bed. We took a picture of it and contacted house keeping.
They said they would send someone to do an inspection for evidence of the bugs. There was also a dead one in a spider web in another bedroom. Still waiting for a follow up from them but not holding my breath. We were in the North East Village #86551.

Hi! We were down here last week for a vacation and we had a great time at the parks. We returned home and I began to develop a rash on my left leg and upper right arm. It is super itchy. We scanned every inch of my bedroom looking for the little things and there was no sign. I have now been led to the conclusion that I received the bites and rashes from this hotel.

Orange Lake has bed bugs stay away. My family and I stayed at Orange Lake Oct 2012. After about 5 days we noticed some itchy red marks on my 3 year old which we thought may be chicken pox. We went to a local Dr. whom said it may be contact dermatitis. He prescribe a steroid and off we went. No mention of bed bugs. The rash continued and got worse. It kept my son awake and made him cranky all vacation. A couple times we had to leave the parks because his feet would break out in rashes. We
tried all types of cream. After a few more days we noticed mosquito looking bites on my older son whom was in the same room. It was then I thought of bed bugs. Unfortunately we were checking out the next day. I called Orange Lake when we got home and asked them to check the room. I received a call back from Hotel management confirming the room did have bed bugs. I have since asked Orange Lake to refund my stay replace my suit cases and refund my medical visit and medication. There answer turn you over to a insurance company and let you battle it out with them. Not only did Orange Lake sell me a room full of bed bugs they now will not stand up and make things right. I feel bad for you time share owners stuck with this bunch of crooks stay away all.

We just stayed at Orange Lake East Village from 12/18/11 to 12/24/11 in room 86816. We thoroughly checked the whole condo and did not see any signs of bedbugs. I even woke up in the middle of the night to go check all the kids beds since the middle of the night is their favorite time to feed! Never found anything. I was very relieved.
We have had a horrible experience with bedbugs from the past (at another hotel in SC) so we know what we are looking for and how to check for them.

We stayed at Orange Lake Resort October 1-5 and received a real treat from this "Resort"..Bed bugs. What a nightmare! Try telling a 4 and 2 year old what bed bugs are and getting them to sleep in their beds.
Please do not stay here. There response was a $50 gift card and they will pay for dry cleaning. Big whoop! The kids are freaked out by the thought of bugs in their beds. Thanks for nothing Orange Lake Dump!

We went to Orange Lake Resort in August 7, 2011. The next day my family and I woke up with many bites. The room whre we stayed was infested with bed bugs ruined my family vacation, because that give us high fever during five days. I am a woman of 50 years old and my son 13 both spent eight days inside the room we coudn't expose to the sun, becaus
e the sun made us burn our skin painfully. Our vacations was a nightmare.

My husband and I own at orange lake and I didnt know it at the time but we were bitten by bed bugs at river island during our April 2010 stay. We also noticed tiny blood smears on the sheets but did not see larger bugs. When we got home we had trails of bug bites on our arms and legs it was so itchy. Im really upset because we own there and are stuck with it.

My family stayed here for the week of May 8, 2010 with my aunt who owns a time share. My husband had bites and a rash, but we never thought about bedbugs at all. After we got home, though, he was itching and had a bad rash, so he went the doctor who said the bites were from bedbugs and the rash was a secondary infection from the bites. He was given a steroid shot and cream that helped for awhile. We couldn't believe that he could have gotten bitten by bedbugs in that nice condo, and the rest
of us had not gotten bitten.
In September 2010, I called an exterminator to check our home because my husband and I had noticed bites on both of us. We didn't see any bedbugs, but we feared we may have brought them back from our Florida trip in May. Sure enough, we had an infestation in our bed. The exterminator found them only in our bedroom, but we had him spray our whole house. He also sprayed our suitcases since that is how they got into our home. He said we would likely have to have our house sprayed again after 4-6 weeks since there could still be eggs in our room.
This is a nice resort, but no one is immune! Be careful when you travel, and take a temporary spray like Steri-fab with you to spray on your suitcases and on the floor.
