I stayed at this hotel during the Christmas Holiday 2011 and came home with a few bites. As the days progressed my legs were itchy each morning...not thinking much of it. Perhaps bug bites or flee bites from a friend's cats. After a while I noticed some raised red bumps on my arms and belly that alarmed me, realizing that either I was having an allergic reaction or getting bit by bugs. The raised bumps went away a bit, and then little bumps started (arms, legs, and neck). I was ready to see
a doctor until I finally saw a bug in my bed that looked reddish, flat and gross! While examining my bed I also noticed marks. They were dark spots. I read up on this today to see if what I had in my bed was really "Bed Bugs". The dark stains on my sheets were fecal matter from the bed bugs (looks like blood spots). If you think that you may have bed bugs and you are not sure, put white sheets on your bed and you will notice within 24 hours if you have them. I am so disgusted. The two things that I read about when staying at a hotel, is never to put your luggage on the bed or floor - I did both. I will never stay at this hotel again!

On behalf of the Parc 55 Hotel, I can assure you that we are bed bug free. We do not have any record of the most recent complaints dated July and December of 2011. We are a large hotel (1,015 rooms) with an International Clientele. We have over 350,000 rooms occupied each year, and if you are educated on Bed Bugs, you know that they can appear at any time. Given these facts, our track record is impeccable. When we do receive a complaint about unknown bites, we have a very strict protocol in
place to investigate swiftly and contact our pest control company immediately. We have the room in question inspected and are fully compliant with the SF Department of Health's Bed Bug Regulations.

Stayed in this hotel from Dec 4-11, 2011 while at a professional meeting. I didn't notice anything during my stay, but by Dec 12 numerous bed bug bites had appeared on my legs and one arm.

Sept. 21-22, 2010 - first night I slept on my stomach and woke up with approx. ten bites across my abdomen. I knew they itched but didn't hear about the bed bug thing in the news, plus my roommate was still sleeping, so I got ready and left. I didn't remember to check the bed. the next night I slept on my back and woke up with approx. 6 bites across my back/butt. I had to check out that day. When I got home, I showed my family the bites and they said it was bed bugs to call the hotel. I als
o called my roommate who was still in the room - luckily she did not get bit. the hotel immediately shuffled her out of the room and moved her. She didn't get a chance to check the room. the hotel claims they found nothing. they were very tight lipped with us.

On behalf of the hotel, we can assure you that we take bedbug reports very seriously. Our policy is to immediately dispatch our Housekeeping Manager to the room to inspect and we place the room in “do not rent” status at once. Simultaneously we notify our pest control company who responds to the hotel on the same day. Suspected room as well as adjoining rooms are inspected by the pest control company and as a preventative measure, irrespective of whether activity is found, the rooms are t
reated. A certificate is then issued by our pest control company to say that the room is Bedbug Free. These certificates are kept on record at the hotel. We also use a trained certified K-9 program which involves bedbug dogs to detect bedbugs by scent and this effective inspection is part of our pest control program on a regular basis.
Thank You.
