My husband and I stayed at this hotel, May 13 to 16. I have bite marks all over my body, and having a fever because of that. If I knew that this hotel has so many problems with bed bugs, I would have never booked a place here. It is not worth it.

I stayed at this Inn for two days on Jan 3 & 4, 2012. I got bite for bed bugs on the first night, so I slept on the car for the another night. After the first day, I talked to the staff and requested to change to another room, but he said no vacancy room on that time.
I am very unhappy about this experience, and bed bugs destroy my travel.

I had booked a room in the Days Inn at the Lombard St (San Francisco, CA) for a few days, but after the first night in the room, I noticed some rash in my arms and legs.
Unfortunately my suspicions were confirmed in the next morning (12/7/11) by finding two bed bugs crawling on my bed.
I took them to the front desk, and the guy started to explain that was unusual and so on... I had to cut his BS short and ask for another room.
In return I got a what-do-you-mean-another-room look from th
e guy because the hotel was fully booked, and cancellation with refund is a big no-no for them.
After explaining that the situation was unacceptable, I was told that another room would be available after 11:00 AM.
Interestingly enough, two guests got the same buggy room a few hours after I had moved to the new room!
Luckily, the other room had no bed bugs, but this was the first and last time I’ll set my foot in a Days Inn!

Response from the daysinn lombard, san francisco
If we receive a report of possible bed bugs we immediately take the room and the adjacent rooms out-of-inventory and have all the rooms inspected by best pest & terminix.
Our hotel takes a bed bug report very seriously and as such we employ the following steps to avoid bed bugs on a regular basis:
1. Our hotel staff has been trained in all protocols used to detect the presence of bedbugs.
2. We have contracts with terminix & best pest
san francisco to make sure that they eradicate any bed bugs, if found. They also provide a routine inspection of all of our guest rooms on a rotating basis.
.At the days inn lombard we take a proactive approach and pride ourselves in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for all of our guests.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel (Oct 23 - 26, 2011, and discovered bedbugs in our own home about two days after arriving home. I recall seeing lots of flecks in what looked like a particle board bed frame corner that was exposed, but didn't think anything of it at the time, never having dealt with bedbugs before. I believe we brought them home in our luggage. After being bitten a few times, actually catching one of the bugs and having it identified by an exterminator, I called th
e hotel and was told that it was impossible for us to have gotten them there, as they had an exterminator who came every 15 days. Our treatment, unfortunately, involved having to have our whole house and car heat treated, costing us $2,700. Ouch!

on Jan 10, 2011, around 6:00am, I woke up and saw 2 bed bugs crawling freely on my pillow and in the bed. they were big bed bugs. the bugs must be fed alot, not only from both of me and my husband, because there were lots of blood from them when we killed the bugs. we called the hotel host right away. he responded so "cool" and told me not to panic. he switched us to another room. since it's so early in the morning, we just moved our stuff to another room. the bugs had bit me in several p
laces, my back, my arm, my tummy, and on my face. the bites didn't show up that big areas at the very beginning. but, my face appeared to swell with the bites 2 days afterward. hope it will go away soon, esp on my face. I need to go to office and I don't want to explain to everybody what I have encountered and I will absolutely tell people how and Where I got the bites.
