Visited 4/6-4/8 with no problems to report. I checked the bedding and the beds carefully having read this site prior to check in but am happy to report that the room was spotless and free of any signs of irregularities.

Once we learned of your concerns, we immediately removed the room from service and contacted a nationally recognized pest control expert to conduct a thorough examination of your guestroom. That examination failed to find any trace of bed bugs.
The safety of our guests and the cleanliness of our facilities are top priorities. The trained
and knowledgeable housekeeping staff at Manchester Grand Hyatt is one of the best lines of defense along with our regular inspections. We pride ourselves on keeping our teams equipped with the knowledge, training, and tools needed to identify and address any issues, and we regularly review our housekeeping standards and procedures to endeavor to ensure that each Hyatt guest enjoys a safe, clean and comfortable environment in our hotels.

Stayed here from 3/10/12. I always check out the room when arrive before settling in. First room sheets were dirty so they moved me to second room on same floor. Found bed bugs all along the creases of the mattress in the second room. Rm 2205. Phoned the front desk and they moved me to another room. Third room was ok. The hotel responded quickly and gave me extra Hyatt points, enough for free night somewhere. Thankful that checked the room and found them and hope they quarantined the room.
During my stay with the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, while attending my Yellow Ribbon conference from July 26 to 31, 2011, I was bitten more than 50 times by what my Doctor confirmed were bed bugs. I brought this to the attention of the front desk manager and was advised that they would look into the matter. I had to be moved to three different rooms, and the hotel staff was less than cooperative about my complaints.
When I filed a formal complaint with the hotel, they brought in a vecto
r control specialist to inspect the rooms where I had stayed. Upon completion of the inspection a hotel staff member contacted me and confirmed that bed bugs had been found. Later, however, the hotel insurance company contacted me and suggested that the vector control specialist’s report was inconclusive and they would conduct further investigation and get back with me. It has been more than three weeks since I have heard from them.
My husband and I stayed @ the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego the week of 8/25/11 and were both bitten. We contacted the Hotel front desk to have the room checked, but the said they see no evidence of it. We were told because we were by the water it was mosquitoes. We will never stay there again.

There has been concerns on this web site and
others of bed bugs this year 2011. Has this been a problem and has it got solved if it was a problem. Would like to hear from management if possible on this issue here.

We stayed here on January 5th, 2011 and had seen beforehand the hotel was on bedbugregistry so we were a bit nervous. Our room was in the Seaport tower. When we arrived we checked the bed behind the headboard and around the bottom of the mattress and found a bedbug on the pillow. We immediately called the front desk who sent up security and housekeeping and we showed the bug to them. They moved us a few floors up to a larger corner room. They also gave us a free breakfast. We checked this room p
retty while and found no more signs of bedbugs. This is very large hotel with alot of traffic from the nearby conference center so I am sure because of that it is nearly impossible to avoid bedbugs.
Stayed here in September and seem to have brought home what developed into a colony. It's costing 1800 to treat our 1000sqft apartment.
This seems like an unavoidable reality for anyone who travels anywhere. Familiarize yourself with the protocol to keep your home safe upon your return. Don't assume that since you don't have bites you didn't pick anything up while traveling.
I do not blame the Hyatt at all, they are a top-notch establishment and the Manchester Grand is no exception.
I should have educated myself and taken appropriate precautions.

I had more than 30 bites on my hands and arms. I had originally thought them to be insect bites from a visit to the San Diego zoo but when no one else reported bits who was with me at the zoo, I concluded bed bug bites. Although I did not see any, the evidence was present....red welts developed from the bites that itched and looked like mosquito bites at first and blood smears on the pillow and sheets. I did not report this to the front desk since as I was in a h
urry to get to the airport but I did send an email to the hotel upon my return home reporting this situation.
I am perplexed that the previous guest in this room would not have reported this condition. If he/she had, I would have assumed the Hyatt would have closed off the room and adjacent rooms.
